Wat Phra Mahathat



Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan is located in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. This is a royal temple of the first class. Formerly named Wat Phra Borom That, this is one of the most important historical sites in southern Thailand and in all of Thailand.

According to the legend of Phra Borom That Nakhon Si Thammarat, Prince Thanakuman and Queen Hem Chala brought Buddha relics to Hat Sai Kaeo and built a small pagoda to mark the location.

Later on, King Si-Thamma Sokarat established the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat and built a new pagoda. The present pagoda has a distinctive Sri Lankan style, measuring 55.78 metres high (measured by the Fine Arts Department during the renovation of the gold top in 1995).

The height from the lotus base to the gold top is 6.80 metres . The top is entirely covered by pure gold. Inside the temple are many buildings of importance, especially the royal building which has beautiful architecture from the Ayutthaya period and the Sam Chom building with the Buddha image attired in royal wardrobe, Phra Si Thamma Sokarat , is housed.

Regardig to, JaTuKam RaMaThep (Phra Siam Dhevaraj of South Sea kingdom) South Sea kingdom is an area in the south of Thailand. It starts from SurajThani, Malaysia until Indonesia. These areas were Sri Vichai Kingdom since over 1,000 years ago. This kingdom was very prosperous.

泰國曆

泰国历是泰国目前使用的历法,泰国原来使用的历法和中国傣族的历法相同(参见傣曆),1888年泰国国王拉玛五世改革历法,采用格里历,但以曼谷建城,即公元1782年为纪元,以建城日4月6日为每年开始,1912年国王拉玛六世将纪元改为佛祖涅槃,即公元前543年,1941年正式采纳格里历,以公元1月1日为开始,但纪元仍延续,所以2007年为泰曆佛祖涅槃2550年。

泰國和尚的稱號

龍達(LAUNG - DA)
稱呼較為年老的僧人,有外祖父之意。

龍破(LAUNG - PU)
稱呼資歷較深或年老的僧人,有祖父之意。

龍婆(LAUNG - PHOR)
稱呼資歷深或中年的僧人,有父親之意。

龍批(LAUNG - PI)
稱呼較年青的僧人,有兄長之意。

古巴〈GU-BA 〉
位於泰北另一支派的僧人,身穿紅衣。

阿贊(AH - JAM)
弟子稱呼師父的用語,所以學生也稱呼老師為阿贊。

崇笛(SOMDEJ)
所有名前加有崇笛的僧人,都是僧皇級的僧侶,在泰國佛教界有著崇高地位。

另還有「連」為小和尚的稱呼,基於禮貌與尊重,我們一般遇見年紀較大的僧人,就算他是剛剛出家的僧侶,我們也都會以龍婆或龍破來尊稱他。

《莲花生大士心咒》

 

莲花生大士,是阿弥陀佛、观世音菩萨、释迦牟尼如来,身口意三密之金刚应化身。很多经典记载,释迦佛在世时就授记过以后为莲花生大士的应世。常常念诵莲花生大士的心咒可以消除灾难、延寿、去除魔难等等殊盛功德。

    
ōng ā hōng,bān zhā er(轻声) gǔ lǔ,bēi mǎ xī dì hōng。

  发音注解:

  嗡:读作(ōng),不读今音(wēng),有的书也写作“唵”。

  吽:读作(hōng轰)。

  尔:读音(er轻声),在咒语读诵中,轻声念,一带而过。

  咕(gǔ)噜(lǔ):“噜”不要读今音(lū)。

Amulet: Jatukam Suwanna Bhumi - AC KunPan, Wat Mahatat, BE 2547

Jatukam Suwannabhumi BE 2547 which blessed by AC KunPan.

This is by far the most famous, popular and expensive Jatukam amulet that created in recent years.

Red Clay. Only 1000 pieces being made. Very highly collectible.

The official name for this batch of Jatukam is "Phra Pongwan Udomchoke Pathom Arahun Suwanna Bhumi".

After the landslide success of the Jatukam Chedi Rai Version BE 2545, many senior monks had asked the AC KunPan which is also a famous police general to help their temples, by create new series of the sacred amulets to assist in their own temple renovation projects.

A new series was later created and was called "Phra Pongwan Udomchoke Pathom Arahun Suwanna Bhumi", and although was designed differently from the old Jatukam Chedi Rai version, it was still created with the same sacred materials.

Several kinds of sacred materials were used to create these sacred amulets such as:

Sacred powder from the ancient pier, where the sacred Phra Arahun’s team including Phra Sona Mahathera had arrived,
Sacred powder of the old amulets named Phra Pongdinderm, Surasthani Province,
Sacred powder from the old sacred statues of Jatukam Ramathep, collected since B.E.2544,
Sacred powder from the top of the chedi of Wat Mahatat,
Sacred powder of Phra Yodkhunpol amulets B.E.2497,
Sacred powder of Phra Putaravadi amulets B.E.2505,
Sacred powder of Phra Mahawan of Wat Khao Or amulets B.E.2485,
Several kinds of sacred powder that were collected by AC KunPan during his life time,
Sacred powder of amulet fragments from many provinces, where AC KunPan had previously worked,

Furthermore, sacred soils and powder from many sacred premises were also used in the mixture, including,

Sacred soils and powder from Wat Punnaram, Rachburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Sajjapunt Mountain, Saraburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Pribplee, Petchburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Pra Buddha Chai, Rachburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Tum Khao-ngoo, Rachburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Sri Buddha Ram, which was built by Prince Duen Denfa in B.E.300,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Khao Bundai-it, Petchburi province,
Sacred soils and powder from Wat Kong, an ancient temple which was built in B.E.200. Several kinds of powder from sacred Thai plants and trees were also added into the mixtures such as Mai Takian, Mai Krabok, Mai Kraton, Mai Makham.

Prapongwan Udomchoke Pathom Arahun Suwanna Bhumi amulets would be given to 20 temples, and all of them had passed the 4 sacred ceremonies, which were strictly organized according to the belief of Jatukam Ramthep and the 12 Naksat of Srivichai Suwanna Bhumi Kingdom as follows:

1st ceremony, at 06.16 am., on November 10th, B.E.2547, at Khao Ngoo, Rachburi province, in order to worship the Hindu gods.

2nd ceremony, at 18.30 pm., on November 12, B.E.2547, at Viharn Soong Maha Ued, Nakornsridharmarach province, in order to transfer magic power into the amulets.

3rd ceremony, at 18.30 pm., on November 17, B.E.2547, at the deep sea of Nakhon Si Tamarat province, in order to transfer magic power into the amulets.

4th ceremony, at 15.31 pm., on December 10, B.E.2547, at Wat Mahatat, Nakhon Si Tamarat province, in order to transfer magic power into the amulets.
